Hi all,
Greetings from Jakarta, Indonesia.

Been a lurker in this amazing forum for a while, (since 2008 actually) but i decided to join this forum after i experience several amazing coincidences that kinda tells me that perhaps the universe did approve me enjoying my pipe. Hahaha.
One of this coincidence is the fact that i managed to acquire 2 Dunhill's in a flea market in Jakarta.

Mind you that pipe smoking is not our culture here (being a tobacco growing country, hell yeah we do smoke! but not pipe!) so the chance of finding an estate Dunhill is well-virtually impossible. :puffy:
Well, that's my brief intros
Have a lovely puffs :)

Hi nsfisher and pipeinhand
Pics coming up !

I need to sort out my avatar first, feels kinda strange appearing on this forum with blank-face-pipe-fella as myself.
And also, to drive you all nuts, i also found a Parker London Select (also coming up)

Well, as i post earlier, i just could not believe my luck so far as Indonesian did not smoke pipe, thus how on earth do this pipes ends up in flea market ?
I got 6 briars, and all of em are found in piles of vintage pens, watches, books, etc.
By the way mr admin fella, is it okay for me to post here ? please remove if deemed appropriate :)

Hi Jameral
Thanks !

Not to mention that the infamous Tambolaka pipe tobacco originated from Indonesia as well.

Great pipes, great pipe tobacco...felt like the pipe-smoking-tobacco-deities is smiling down upon me from their smoking lounge (*just imagine ol' Alfred, unca Pete, Savinelli having a puff in heaven*) :puffy:

to all :
sorry for the late reply, my smart phone camera didn't being so smart just now

here's my flea pipes (sorry for the crappy pics, i'll post decent ones using proper camera)
img00263-20120116-1610-600x450.jpg

1. Banged up 1973 Dunhill Shell; lost its silver band/ring, punch a hole in the mortise, heavy and uneven cake inside the bowl. Luckily no crack inside the bowl, stem held up nicely with minor oxidation and minimum bite marks. Currently being repaired by a local pipe carver. Yay !

2. Parker London Select. Not a big fan of bent pipes at first.

Why ? coz its dang hard to clean them pipes with no pipe cleaners around (yep...no pipe cleaners here in Indonesia :( )
So when I saw this pipe, I wasn't to crazy about it. When i haggled the price with the flea market dude, i was also browsing "Parker Pipe" (Im a total newbie, didn't know mucho' bout pipes brand/maker). So when i got the info that Parker is Dunhill's seconds wel...I was so dang happy !.
The pipe smokes so well, and currently its my fave pipe :puffy:

3. BBB Minerva; got this from a local antique dealer in 2007. I paid quite expensive for this, probably he ripped me off since im a newbie 8O

4. BDL Old Briar; havent found any info on this pipe yet. But this is my second fave pipe (so far)

5. Another BBB pipe, actually this is my first pipe. Believe it or not, it smoke so sweetly and i only paid $11. Sadly, i lost this pipe (my house got break-in and this pipe was stolen :puffpipe:)

6. uh..i mention earlier that i had two dunhill's from the flea market ? well here is the second ones :p

Welcome aboard the Death Star Pufferissimo.
So... If you do not have access to pipe cleaners how do you clean your pipes?
Thin wire or plastic brushes?
