Ah, Russian carvers. I don't own many, but I do admire their style from time to time.
I recently acquired this little smooth number by carver Vladimir Grechukhin.
The style is classic bent apple, but there is some nice eye candy here if you are a grain maven.

Wow ... that's incredibly nice! The patterns shown on the bottom are like Mossy Agate.
I really like the perpendicular grain in the Black Palm, too.
That pipe looks like it would just melt into your palm! :)
