My collection of Dr Grabow pipes grows with this addition. Just got her cleaned up and ready today. Looks like new.

The Golden Dukes, especially the earlier pipes are among my favorite smokers and that shape with the short saddle stem is my favorite!

Nice score!

It was a pleasure to bring the pipe back into use. It's a solid piece of old briar, light and well balanced in the mouth. I don't know how old it is, but I don't think it had ever been cleaned. I was going to post a picture of the mountain of cotton pads, swabs and pipe cleaners used on it but it's just too gross! I'm very close to buying an alcohol retort system.

Looks better than new. That's the thing with estates, looks can be deceiving.

Look at the grain on that baby. That is some impressive briar, and an especially attractive if

traditional shape. Is there any comparable manufactured American pipe today? Maybe some

of the Bentons, though they can have a fill here and there.
