Germain Brown Flake- age it or smoke it?

I just found a few tins of the elusive Germain Brown Flake. Does this blend improve significantly with age or should I just crack a tin and try it?

The only way you will know if it gets better with age, is if you try it fresh so you have a base for comparison.
