Popped open a tin of JF Germain & Son 1820 mixture yesterday, never had it before. Bought on a whim from my local B&M about two years ago, and I've been unintentionally hording it until I burned through some of my other opened English style blends.
I rather suck at reviews, so... in a few words: it's very nice and not what I was expecting. Reminds me of a cross between Esoterica's "And So To Bed" and Frog Morton's "On The Town." Tin note had very faint overtones of some liquor, but maybe it was just the anaerobic aging because it's mostly gone by day two. Fine shag or ribbon cut, and there was a little bloom on the darker bits (Latakia I'd assume). It's lighter and sweeter than many of the other English blends I've tried.
