Mike posted this little beauty on the January 17th update over at BriarBlues and I couldn't pass it up.
I've been looking for a SeaRock finished Castello for a long time, and this one just sang to me... Sirens call and all that. It arrived yesterday, safe and sound, and well packed from Mike and I couldn't be more pleased. It looks like it's going to be a lovely little flake machine.
Based on what I've been told, and what I've read, the pipe likely dates from the 1970s, and was made for the US market. I'm just glad that the previous owner kept it in such good condition.
Here is the pipe porn:

Thanks Mike!

Pruss, I have been looking at Sea Rock's as well. There is something about them that I just love. I hope they smoke as good as they look. One day I'm gonna pull the trigger...

Thanks guys.
I agree, the rakish angle on the shank and stem gives it a flair which I like. It's also, probably, the closest thing I'm going to get to a JT Cooke Canadian in the near future.
I'm going to put some escudo through it this week to see how she smokes. I've been informed by some that the earlier Castello pipes have a slightly narrower draw than the newer pipes do.

I like the slight rake also. The color of the bit goes very well with the color of the finish also. Enjoy your pipe!

Great looking pipe! I love the sliver of a white band. I've just started breaking in a sea rock Canadian from the same era and am loving it. I expect you are going to love yours as well!

Hard to beat a Sea Rock. Out of this world gorgeous and Castello pipes are always a top notch smoke, never had one that wasn't phenomenal.

Nice score indeed, Pat, she looks incredible for her age. I dig the stem and dark stain finish as well. Enjoy buddy. I own 3 Sea Rocks and they all look and smoke phenominally well. Mine are all 3 newer Kino generation so the draw is indeed very wide open...just the way i like it.
