No-name basket pipe I got from Hiland's Tobacco ages ago. I've never really liked it or smoked it much. I don't particularly like the red stain, and it has several ugly putty fills. I don't even remember why I bought it. Perfect guinea pig for a rustication experiment.

Here it is after I carved out the "rings."

After the first layer of red mahogany stain.

And then with ebony stain over the red mahogany. Not bad. I'll probably do another round of red and ebony for greater contrast before buffing it with some wax. Fun experiment. I learned a lot, so next time I try this it should be better.

Is it a Golfer's pipe? The design of pipe looks like golf ball. Well done.
