first pipe i have carved from a pre bored block. still have to get some wax but otherwise done. sorry for the crappy pics. had to use the cell phone. what do ya think?

You, my friend, are an artist.

EXCELLENT work on the rustication. I find bad rustication to be particularly annoying. Not here though, you've done great work making it look like a natural surface.

I also like the way you have done the boundaries between the rusticated and smooth areas, it shows that you put a lot of time into the details here. It has the look of an old medieval map, the shores of strange unkown continents, drifting slowly around your pipe bowl.

But the one thing that really jumps out at me is that you have managed to take an ordinary briar tobacco pipe, and give it a particularly sinister look. Not sure exactly what to blame that on, but it seems like the pipe might hex you for feeding it a blend it doesn't like.

Or, it might just slip out of the cabinet in the middle of the night for a smoke on its own.

Thats a pipe with character brotha!

Yeah thats a really nice even shape and the rustication is great! i love rusticated pipes so this is a home run!! Awesome job for a first chop. :clap:

thanks all for the kind words. i had a lot of fun doing this.

lonestar, if i were trying to sell these for money i would keep your comments to use as blurbs on advertising. ha.

as for smoking... i am giving him his first one now and it is smoking very well.
