My Etsy pipe arrived today! It's not quite as pristine as I thought it might be, but overall condition seems pretty good. There is some rim darkening that I've been able to spit shine off a bit. There's still some stubborn char that might not come off, but I'll keep working it every time I clean after a smoke. The bowl is kind of crusty and scratched up from reaming, but in my mind that just says it was well-loved and a good smoker.
The silver is tarnishing but I don't mind the look. I don't have anything to polish it with right now, but I suppose I might shine it up sometime in the near future. The drilling is nice and correct, construction-wise this thing is bang on and my first bowl smoked great. This thing smokes effortlessly! It's a decent sized pipe, must be at least 6" in length, and there's way more bowl than I need. I'm very pleased with the performance, probably the best pipe I've bought so far, especially for only $80!
The stain is lighter and more brown than my other Rosslare Royal Irish, which is more reddish and shiny. I wonder if it's different stain or simply a function of being smoked a lot? At any rate, it's an attractive piece. I love it!

tufftony, the Rosslare Classic and Royal Irish have yellow stems, as do Kapp Royals, and some flame grains. I believe at least 1 year of the St. Patty’s pipes do as well. If it’s your cup of tea there are quite a few out there.

Thanks, Mike! I’m not sure what shapes you are interested in, but I’ve been emailing this seller directly and I know for a fact that she has 2 more Royal Irish, both 999’s I believe, one smooth finish and one of the black sandblasted. No idea what she wants or exact condition, but if you’re interested let me know. I can reach out and see if I can put you two in contact. I’m not in love with the 999 or I probably would have already bought them myself!

Beautiful Pipe!!. I have the RRI in the 33 style but it is much lighter than yours.I prefer the Peterson High Grades with a lighter stain to almost a natural briar look.

Yet another yellow stem! I think I’ve reached my quota for the foreseeable future. I have my eye on a couple of spigots (with black stems! Shocking, I know...) at which point my little wall mounted tobacco cellar/pipe display will be at capacity for pipes. After that I think I’ll shift my focus to legitimately cellaring a few blends that I enjoy. I only have a couple ounces of various smokes in jars, I don’t have any meaningful stock of my favorites. Time to become a tobacco prepper!

Thank you, madox07! Pictures don’t do them justice. The quality of briar on both of these is without compare, I adore them very much. I’m a fan of Birdseye and not necessarily sweeping cross grain or anything, so these both fit the bill for me. Zero fills on either.
