I’ve been working through a tin of Blairgowrie and recently had a bowl interrupted by a phone call. I must say that upon relighting this resulted in some nice flavors coming to the fore. I’m going to have to try the DGT on this one. I rarely ever bother with this but in this case it’ll probably be worthwhile.
Given that I have my stockpile of this blend already in the cellar I can safely say that Mr. Pease has created another fine series of blends that are worth a try.

DGT hapoens by accident for me too. The Last time I DGT'd was yesterday. The tobacco was Bold Kentucky. When I relit the pipe, the Virginia was much more noticeable and sweeter, the Dark Fired had less dark fired flavor and more chocolate/nutty flavor that I get from Wessex Burley Slcied.

That’s similar to what I found with the Blairgowrie, more sweet Virginia notes and a generally lighter tone.
Your description of the DF with a more Virginia forward flavor sounds right up my alley.
