For those who asked, here is a photo of the just-delivered today Dracula pipe. I think it is beautiful, although lacking in ornamentation along the tip, but it is a stout, thick walled billiard, nicely finished with a gleaming black sandblast, and of course it smokes well--just the pipe to have when I'm writing my gothic novel late at night. Now, I have a pot Dracula and reserved for full payment next month, a 69 tip billiard. Together they will make quite a macabre trio!

Looks good, sparrowhawk. I love the rusticated Draculas, they look great. I should have my (smooth) Dracula on Friday.

I'm smoking my usuals in it, Carter Hall, Molto Dolce, but while it smokes well, it's also a little difficult because the pipe has to break in, and Petersons are notorious for long break-ins.

I'm not wild about the Dracula, but I have to admit that the rustication looks great with the red stem.
Someone else got a stem without much detail and they contacted Peterson. They had to send the pipe to Peterson, but got a stem more to their liking. Frankly, I kind of like the look on yours.

It came a day earlier than expected and it felt good to take it out of the Dracula 2012 sleeve and open up that beautiful green Peterson box. Though the rusticated Draculas certainly look better, the stem on this one sold me.

The PAD fangs were sunk into my wallet and luckily it was not bled dry.

Beautiful pipe Sparrowhawk.

Even though For the esthetics of these pipes are questionable for some, IMHO they are great smokers. I have a x105 and a 68 smooth and they smoke like a dream. I am looking forward to getting a sandblasted 69 before they go away.

Drac owners, of which I am not one, should start an exclusive society. Their motto could be,

"No shy pipes." I have to say, the Dracula series pipes are pipes with attitude.

Mso, what a great idea. We could call ourselves "The Esteemed Society of Undead Pipers," with the only requirements:

1. Own a Peterson Dracula Pipe

2. Have read "Dracula" by Bram Stoker.

3. Take a test on "Dracula," like who was Abraham Van Helsing? What road did Jonathan Harker take to Dracula's castle?
(Answers, 1-Vampire Killer, 2-The Borgo Pass)
See, easy!

Yeah, the stem said "You must buy me, now. Don't wait. You know you want to."
It was right.
As for the "Esteemed Society of Undead Pipers," I meet requirement one, obviously. I will admit I have never read Bram Stoker's book though. That is an easy fix and I think I may have to move it to the front of the line with Halloween -my favorite holiday- just around the corner. My love of Halloween hasn't really extended too much to literature, it is mostly just movies, cartoons and an obsession with Halloween decor - planning costume ideas in the summer.

Read "Dracula." There one slow spot in the novel, but once you get past that, the novel is an exciting adventure. Believe me, it hasn't stayed in print this long because of college professors. In fact, if you have a Kindle, you can get it as a free download, along with "Frankenstein." Both are required reading.

"Both are required reading," lol. I just threw it on my Kindle. Luckily I don't have any reading that needs to be done for school over the weekend and the building I work in on Saturday is a ghost town. Have never read Frankenstein either. As far as "tales of the macabre" go I'm only familiar with Edgar Allen Poe.
