Well I received my Il Duca with bamboo shank which I had mistakenly listed as a Conte-Fiammata Freehand but upon inspection I noticed it to be a Duca-Fiammata Freehand which is his top grade, lovely pipe.
While searching around late last night, or perhaps early this morning to be more specific, this lovely little rusticated billiard with Plateau rim, bamboo shank and tan stem by Al Perkowski, of Creative Briar, was too much to pass on so it's on the way!

Nice Fish!!! I don't have any bamboo pipes as I'm scared I'm gonna break them. I rarely smoke at home so all my pipes need to be "road worthy". lol

blueeyedogre,

While not the genus used in pipe making bamboo is used as scaffolding in some parts of Asia, it is not weak by any stretch. Regards...........
