Cork pipe knockers are the best!

I just got a nice peterson ash tray from a smoking contest victory. Has two spots for pipes, asecond spot for a tamper (I use this for burnt matches) and an ash reservoir with a glued in pipe knocker. I have never used one before but wow, ill ever not have one again, it is the best way ever to empty a pipe, no more fiddling around with a pick for me

Just be sure to hold your pipe by the shank and not the stem while knocking the ashes out. I've seen a lot of snapped stems from knockers.

I've seen a lot of snapped stems from knockers.

Haven't met a set of knockers big enough to snap my stem yet! :D

congrats for the victory, Peterson's Ceramic Ashtray is very nice, I've one with two pipe seats and ash reservoir with cork knocker. Mine hasn't pipe tool spot. It is very stylish, will be very nice in your office.

I have the same one. It's fantastic. I highly recommend that sherlock tamper, too.
