Yesterday Bill Burr had a show in my city.

He came into our local shop to buy a cigar and saw me smoking a pipe. I walked him through the pipe collection and then our house blend tobaccos.

After his show, we let him and the opening acts take over the store (usually we close at 8 )

I gifted him his first Briar pipe(with pipe cleaners) - he picked out one of our house blends and I walked him through proper treatment of a pipe...It was pretty awesome.

He was very polite and just fun to talk to (as well as his manager and the openers - special shout out to comedian Joe Bartnick!!!)

Sounds like fun. The celebrities I've encountered over the years have invariably been quite friendly - especially jazz and bluesmen. Can't say I've ever met a celebrated comedianl

That is awesome! We can use all the pipe and cigar smoking celebrities that we can muster. It has the potential to help the general public learn, that there are huge differences between pipe/cigar smoking and cigarette smoking.

Bill Burr is hilarious. I'm glad to hear that he's at least checking out pipe smoking because maybe that will result in some good stories about pipe smoking in his act.

That's a great story. Bill Burr has been on of my favorite stand up comedians for years.
The swap meet bit is one of favorites. Just wrong on so many levels.

That's awesome. I'm a big Bill Burr fan. I've never seen him and I don't really go to many live comedian acts. But him and Jim Florentine are on my list. He's been a regular on Opie Radio (XM) and seems like an overall fun guy. Your shop story confirms that!
This is long, but masterful handling of a brutal crowd (they had just booed another comedian off the stage). Burr starts his set, then switches to just smashing the hecklers. Only cell phone audio was saved.

Sounds like an awesome time, I hear he is really cool guy too... Been one of my favorite for some time now. His bit on his girlfriend rescuing a dog while he's away on the road had me in stitches. Id post a video, but for some reason I can't figure out how to do it.

Bill Burr joined Jerry Seinfeld awhile back on "Comedians in Cars getting Coffee". It does involves cigars, not pipes, but still:
