Code on Butz Choquin pipes

I have noticed there is a four digit code on my butz choquin pipes. What does that mean? I suppose it’s not model number as if I search in google, different pipes show up. Are they a date stamp? If yes, how do I decode it?

They sometimes have model names accompanied by a 4 digit number, less than 2000 I have the impression, it is probably the quantity of this model manufactured, and each pipe has a number corresponding to it.
(Each year, Butz Choquin and Chacom create a vintage pipe model or pipe of the year, their distribution limited to 1000 copies in principle and their careful manufacture make them sought-after models with the engraved year and a letter.)
