There's no easier shape for a "clencher" than a full bent, and I think Oom Pauls look great, but they ARE heavy. Morta might solve the weight problem - or so I've been thinking. So. Has anyone tried it (and how much are we looking at)? Anyone know a maker? Or is there a good manufactured model out there that anyone knows from first hand experience? I don't think this project would be cheap, but a Morta Oom Paul would probably be a very cool pipe!

When I think Morta, the first name that comes to my mind is Davorin Denovic. Check out his pipes, and what's being offered at the various vendors, see if you like his style.

The other person that comes to mind is Chris Askwith.

Hey Plug, we have 2 great young carvers on this Forum, give them a chance, Ryan Alden & ClickClick, I am so sorry I am havering a Senior moment on ClickClicks name but he makes some Beautiful stuff as does Zack. Who recently showed us one he carved. Try the local boys you won't be dissapointed.

Thanks Bradley! Can't say I've made an Oom Paul before, but if I did, I'd base it off this Dunhill design...

You would probably be looking at $350 - $425 depending on what you want.
