I thought this might be fun. I wanted to know what your coffee of choice is when you are smoking. And is there a tobacco blend that goes best with coffee? I'll go First:

I like Starbucks gold coast brewed in a french press(snob, I know)
A couple of blends that stick out as realy good with it are Seven Seas Gold and Frog Morton.

No coffee snob here, just a coffee junkie per thread title.
Yuban Dark Roast is the usual grind though I will enjoy any brew that is black and has caffeine.
Have as yet to find a coffee/tobacco combination that is special, they are all good to my tastes.

    Snus, snuff and briar.
Not much more required in a day.

Tim Hortons XL double double. I drink 4 aday.. Only the ones before and after work do I get to smoke with. Goes well with almost any tobaccos I've tried =D ( except sweeter baccos, probably be better if I didn't have them with sugar with though)

I've found coffee and a pipe are a great combination. I'm not picky but I don't like Folgers or Maxwell House. I like a lot of the Caribou blends. Dunkin Donuts makes a good cup. I also enjoy a few of the Seattle's Best blends.

Home roasted beans can't get any fresher. I prefer Africanbeans. Kenyan or Ethiopian can have berry like flavors. Paired with any smoke makes the pipe and the coffee better.

Not much of a snob, more of a junkie. I enjoy MJB or Nabob. I hate the plastic coffee makers they drive me nutts. I grew on a farm, we had a Bunn industrial coffee maker. So did all of my family for that matter. It would brew 4 pots of coffee under 2 minutes. I currently have one at my house as well. It tends to make the best cup of joe from any bean/grind/roast that i have tried. I love the Bunn machines. Infact in my pic you can see mine behind me.

Edit: Sorry I didn't even include a tobacco. Obviously early morning pipe, Irish oak, 3p's

If you asked me a few years ago - I would say any coffee by Peets. However, I have found I like some blends that my local Safeway carries. In fact, mixing beans has become something my wife and I like to do for fun and interest. Right now we tried mixing a Double Chocolate whole Bean with an Espresso Roast. Very yummy and a perfect Evening cup.

If I am "Good" my wife wakes me up with a morning cup of coffee (Espresso Roast) & a bagel.

I prefer Dunkin' Donuts' brand, but have settled on a suitable substitute in Hills Bros. Original Blend Mild Roast.
It's more economical given the enormous quantity I drink. This is a great thread because it got me to reflect on
why I prefer the milder coffee -- the same reason I smoke milder tobaccos: the amount that I consume would
overwhelm me by day's end if I used richer or stronger blends.

Yes; although I forego the "double/double" and just order up the thick black goodness, and limit myself to one a day (too much caffine and the tinnitus becomes a dull roar).

juni, how do you make turkish coffee? I always enjoy something new. And for me, coffee began in a similar way that pipe smoking did. I dabbled and then got more into it. They are both alot of fun. This is why i asked was b/c i thought it'd be cool to get new ideas from others and learn about different blends, both coffee and tobacco. Thanks romeowood! well, i guess i've had it long enough to be used to it, and i won't stop coffee to cure it

No, it'll float to the bottom of the cup, so don't drink everything in a big gulp.

You will need an ibrik though.

I went through a phase of drinking freshly ground Guatemalan espresso with a Montecristo cigar and that worked really well, so I guess it will probably work with pipe tobacco too. Guatemalan coffee tends to be roasted fairly strong but has a sweet, chocolatey note.

i work for a Swedish company and spend a lot of time in Sweden....the Swedes are very close 2nds to the Finns when it comes to highest per capita coffee consumption in the world, and they like it STRONG too (anything less than tar consistency is disparagingly labelled "American coffee" in Scandinavia!)....i slowly got used to it and came to realise than in Scandinavia nothing gets done with the consumption of large amounts of coffee everyday

Best thing I ever did was fork out a small fortune for a Jura (Swiss) coffee machine - I don't do electronics, hell, I can't even turn on a tv/dvd etc, but this thing tells you every step what button to push next - throw in the whole beans, water & it throws out exquisite better than store-brewed coffee.

My beans come from the little European man who roasts them himself & he delivers me 3 kilos (I live alone) every 3 weeks within 24hrs of roasting. He's won gold medals for his beans so they're pretty damn fine imo.

I drink between 10 and 15 double shots (in each cup) a day. I sleep 18+ hours a day every day, so I don't believe any of that bunkum about coffee keeping people awake but sure wish I knew what it felt like.

Peet's French roast or major Dickinson's blend/espresso with SG-Bracken flake

Its Great to some folks who are enjoying Peets Coffee, I run a Peets store and also have really been enjoying the experiments with the combination of my pipe and cup. Earlier today I had a press of Sumatra and some Frog Morton. Ironically enough my wife runs a Starbucks so I may have had a couple of the dark sides blends as well. Cafe Ciello
and Norseman make a good combo as well
