I recently received an estate Peterson African block meerschaum pipe and upon examination I saw four small holes in the bottom of the bowl. This interested me so while cleaning p, I discovered that there is a metal button in the bottom of the bowl! After cleaning g and sanitizing this pipe I replaced the button, filled the pipe and smoked it for a quite enjoyable smoke.
