First of all, here is my new Brebbia Naif. I have wanted one for a while. I found this one on sale a few weeks ago.
I am really happy with this one, it has met my expectations. It feels great in the hand and hangs really well from my jaw. I had three satisfying smokes over the first ten days and I knew that I liked it.
Here is the problem: It had a very tight draw and I knew that I had to correct this. It would pass a pipe cleaner easily while smoking and was not plugged or packed too tight. After scorching my tongue last Saturday, I decided to take action. The stummel was wide open. I could pass a doubled pipe cleaner through it easily. The stem going back from the tenon would not pass a drill bit at all so I started to open it up going back. I could not get the drill bit to catch when a light bulb went on. I'll be damned if I wasn't trying to drill a hole in a 9mm filter adaptor! I removed the adaptor and voila, an open draw pipe.
Well, last night I loaded it up with one of my standbys - Milan's Balkan Blend (lovely stuff). It smoked like a charm. It tasted like I was sipping Fresca and the garage filled up with the smell of sweet spicy incense. Life is good.
