Forgive me if this has been discussed in previous forums. I'm new to the site and haven't had much time to look around yet. Can anyone recommend some books on pipe smoking and tobacco? Primarily i'm interested in the historical aspect - the history of pipes and pipemakers, information on famous tobacconists, the different varieties of leaf/blends and where they come from, etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
-BB

There is always "The Ultimate Pipe Book" by Richard Carleton Hacker. He can be over the top on some things, but the book, though dated is not bad; Lots of pipe history and info on main stream pipe manufactures. There is also the quarterly magazine, Pipes and Tobaccos. Lots of pipe porn, tobacco reviews, and profiles on individual pipe carvers.
