Yesterday afternoon me and my girlfriend were "baby-sitting" her nephew and niece (9 and 8 years old). The niece was already wining for some time about having a pipe of mine so I bought her (and the nephew) a Missouri Meerschaum mini-corncob so they could blow soap-bubbles out of it. They both love the smell of the pipe so perhaps in 10 years they make a pipe-smoking young boy or girl very happy

So how often would you have to tamp the bubbles?

You're the LaPierre of the National Pipe Association! Teach 'em young!

I knew a girl named Bubbles but I never tampered w/her.

Guy says to his newly wed buddy. "Where ya goin on y'er honeymoon?"

buddy says: "We're goin t'a Florida!"

Guy says: "Goin t'a Tampa with her?"

    buddy says: "My Am I!"

Did you go with aromatic or vaper bubbles?
Cute kids, nice to see them having fun with something that's such a simple pleasure.

Ten to one I could probably blow good sized bubbles with some Ennerdale.

That's a sneaky way to introduce pipes to youngsters

That's a sneaky way to introduce pipes to youngsters []

Well, I actually got the idea from an old picture of a Dutch boy blowing bubbles from out of a clay pipe:

And indeed simple pleasure. It surprised me that they both loved it so much. I had bought 1 litre of soap bubble liquid and it was nearly gone. Even the nephew (who normally is glued to the screen of his Nintendo, tablet or laptop) had fun.

Of course I did say that they absolutely should not smoke tobacco until they are 18 years old. Then they can decide for them selves.

IMHO it is great that you & your girlfriend will let her nephew and niece play like kids have for decades and not worry about what will others think when they see "kids" holding a pipe.
