Finally there is joy in Mudville!!! Holy moly, the town is going nuts. Several of the large sporting goods stores announced they had championship gear and they would be open immediately. We wife comes down and says "We're going to Dick's!" and off we went. Prices were sky high but nobody cared. And yes, if you ask if I know where I was the last time KC won the World Series I can tell you "Yes". I thought I would never see this again in my lifetime.
It's been a long time between drinks, KCG.
We had some fireworks in the neighborhood when they beat the Astros.
And even more when the Jays plummeted.
But, tonight, was the 4th of July all over.

Pressing decisions this offseason for the Royals will be what to do with Alex Gordon, Greg Holland, & how to get a pitcher like Johnny Cueto here for the season next yr.
Cueto is a "not gonna happen" thing and the farm system is empty so trading for one is tough. It is tough to offer a 32-year old LFer without real power a four year deal. Holland will be out all next year so they may work out a deal like the did with Hochevar. Zobrist is also a free agent and we could really use him.
Don't worry about next year because Flags Fly Forever.
First World Series in thirty years, but next year will be thirty years for the Mets. I had to wait a lot longer than that for my White Sox, but it was quite a show when they finally did it.
Congrats to KC from a Mets rooter. They deserved the victory, and put on a great series.
Of course, next year belongs to the Giants...... [ducking and running]
