It's a Park Sherman Co Match Safe. I bought it this morning at an antique shop for $12.00 I love old vintage lighters and things like this. My swan matches fit in there perfectly. I'd never seen one before today. I'm going to keep with my pipe and tobacco travel pouch.

I had one about 50 years ago - before I was even old enough to play with matches.
That and my gazillion piece Swiss army knife.

Smokingdragon where did you find those? I've been looking for something like that to replace one one I lost a few years back.

I bought a couple of the metal (tin I think) ones from "Duluth Trading Company" catalog. I assume they still have them on their web site as well.

Yeah, those are cool!
There is something about this one that just called out to me. It's got a couple of small dings which give it character. And, like other vintage items, it's got a story behind it. I love thinking about how many hands this has been through, and who may have owned it.
