Wow...this kid is truly amazing...could be the next Tesla if he doesn't end up too controlled by the prevailing paradigm.

Tears came to my eyes watching this video.
Who knows what he can develop? Star travel, limitless energy (his research into fusion)
I'm overwhelmed.

Well said Allan...sounds like you’re about ready for Jake’s calculus lesson:

I pray that this young man will be able to function as an adult. Eventually he will pass from a curiosity and have to survive in the "real" world. His parents have long road ahead.

Wow! I can't imagine being that smart! I was pretty smart as a kid myself, but nothing like this kid! I won the Presidential Academic Achievement Award and was chosen to attend Lee University for a semester in a subject of my choice when I was in the 6th grade. I was also on several academics teams around that time, but I got bored and fell in with a different crowd and ended up barely graduating high school! Not because I suddenly lost mass quantities of brain cells or anything, but a general lack of trying. Still, can you imagine what that young man might accomplish in a few years? Just hope he doesn't end up in a "John Nash/Beautiful Mind" kinda situation.

I used to think I was good in math until I took trigonometry. At that point, I just gave up.
That’s almost exactly the same as me. It amazes me that anyone can master the type of advanced stuff this kid is doing such as in the calculus video...to be doing it at his age is mind boggling.
Just hope he doesn't end up in a "John Nash/Beautiful Mind" kinda situation.
Interesting note regarding John Nash: In order to be politically correct, the Ron Howard movie erroneously implied that Nash’s recovery was due to pharmaceutical drugs. Apparently the truth is just the opposite...he recovered after refusing to take them any more:
