Great series. All the episodes are well worth watching.
The one about opium, in which the presenter (whose name escapes me) talks about getting a foot rub in a Chinese opium den when he was younger...does make it sound quite appealing.

Just about to watch it now, pretty excited as I really like Brian Cox's documentaries, I hope nothing here is going to turn me off tobacco (dissected lungs and such) xD Thanks for the link

Thanks for posting that jdub! Some great history there. I watched it a few months ago. I like when they were down on the banks of the Thames showing how the shards of clay pipes can still be found laying in the gravel.
I liked it. Not really a for or against type of program but educational for sure.
If you liked the BBC program check out This book about the history of tobacco from Amazon.I have it on my Kindle and it is a great read.

Anyone see the Modern Marvels episode on tobacco? I haven't but heard it's a good watch.
