Here
What activities have been made more bearable for you by pipe smoking?
Being on hold for days with the VA, bank, customer service, etc.
Waiting for downloads, updates and other mundane digital processes to complete.
Watching grass grow.
Reading and writing.
Staring at the boob tube.
Sitting in the company of visually appealing but audibly repulsive young persons on the coffee house patio. 8)
Contemplating why the broken or disassembled piece of equipment in front of you does not wish to function.
Making silly lists on internet forums.
What are some of yours?

Watching nature from my chair on the deck, looking up at the stars at night around the fire pit, sharing the camaraderie of the forum, and looking up how to spell camaraderie.

My pipe is the difference between enjoying life and suffering it.

Reading, drinking real ale or tea, listening to music, sitting in the garden. I have also smoked while baking bread and cakes - it often involves periods of waiting for things to proof or cool or rest so I just relight my pipe in the meantime.

I forgot to say my great grandfather and his father both used to sit together, smoking their pipes in the garden waiting for their racing pigeons to fly home.
