Gentlemen....I am very sad.

This is the second one in a month. I'm not sure what my problem is. My two favorite pipes to boot.
I've ordered a handful of replacement stems from Pipemakers Emporium in Arizona (Lucite Stems) and am going to try and cut down the tenons by hand. Any useful advice?

Rats, I hate it when that happens!

My problem seems to be dropping them and dinging the bowl.

I have yet to do that. May I ask how these happened? Dropped, sat on, etc?
No idea about turning/forming tenons.

Pocket of my coat or vest, catch it on the car door or something and 'snap'.
I'm just sick about it in all honesty.

Can not say I have ever dropped or just straight up broken a pipe. That sucks

Been there. A one month new pipe and suddenly the stem just broke. Had to order a replacment. Lucky for me the seller was an honest one and sent me a replacment. But the two weeks until it arrived were very annoying.

Touch wood I have never snapped a stem yet but there is a thread on here about my 'exploding meerschaum' pipe from last winter that was a tad annoying! Thankfully most of mine come with pipe cases which protect from some of the worst potential accidents.

Thankfully both pipes use the same stem (although one is bent) I ordered two for each pipe, in two different colors, just to make sure I don't screw it up. I understand emery cloth and patience can make it happen.
