As the title says I am about to embark on my first pipe restoration. I am unclear about the buffing and polishing steps.

- What equipment do you guys use for the buffing and waxing? I am looking at a few different tabletop machines.

- What products do you use for the buffing and waxing? There are quite a few different options on the market.

Good luck. It can be quite fun to fix up an old classic and give it a second life. I recommend practicing on a few beaters before trying to fix something rare or expensive.

Thanks ashdigger. I’ll check out the videos. I’ve seen some of their videos already and they are quite good.

Dave - I’ll be starting on an old linkmans I got for cheap from eBay. It appears to be a good starter. I’ll post some before and after pics.

I've actually not yet gotten any major equipment for restorations. This one was done with Magic Erasers, Barkeeper's Friend, and toothpaste. A Handiwipe Multiuse towel with Paragon wax was used on the bowl and a Case XX blade was used to ream the chamber.

The before was an eBay shot. Here's another. That first does appear to be a mirror image.

4noggins has it for $12 I think. The whiners at Canada Post are on rotating strikes, it will only slow down delivery a bit.
