On Feb 15th, an asteroid about "half the size of a football field" will pass within geosynchronous orbit.

Is there any way it could be "nudged" onto a trajectory with DC? Maybe if everybody in the country took their laser pointers and aimed them at just the right spot, at just the right time....

I think all the hot air would just deflect it back .

Below link is to a diagram of its path. And just to clarify, what I meant by "within geosynchronous orbit", is that it will pass within the "geosynchronous ring" of where many satellites orbit.

This is what is called a bullet burn.

There is nothing like being left alone again, to walk peacefully with oneself in the woods.
To boil one's coffee and fill one's pipe, and to think idly and slowly as one does it.
