I have wanted for a long time to own a Kaywoodie pipe, and about 3 weeks ago I have found one to my liking in eBay and purchased her for 13.5 $. Yesterday I got her and while checking her out I notice something strange (for me at least).

As I know Kaywoodie pipes are manufactured in the U.S. But as can be seen on the third photo it has the word "ITALY" embedded in the down side on the stem.

So how can this be? Is it a replacement stem? But it has Kaywoodie logo on it and when I screw it in place it fits perfectly. Were Kaywoodie pipes manufactured in Italy or their stems?

Can anyone shed some light on this?

And btw she smokes heavenly if anyone is interested. :D

The newer "Drinkless" line pipes were made in Italy. The outline clover logo marks it as one of those.
