I just scored this pipe on Ebay. My first acquisition of 2016. It's a massive but well balanced Ed Burak Connoisseur bent Dublin made between 1974 and 1981. It's absolutely gorgeous and never been smoked. It's been sitting on my shelf for the last 2 weeks and I've been hesitant to deflower it but smoking is what pipes are for so here she goes

It's not a clencher, but it's a beauty. Plenty of bowl and a hunk of briar. Good for those long February nights thinking great thoughts.

It's so well balanced that while I don't know if I'd take a 5 mile walk with it hanging out of my mouth it doesn't need to be hand held held either
The only drawback is the narrowness of the tobacco chamber. It's got a 3/4 inch chamber diameter on a bowl that's 2 inches wide. I'm thinkink of having it enlarged to 7/8" if that can be done

It's too heavy and awkward to clench comfortably, hence mso is correct in saying "It's not a clencher". Sure, you may and can if you wish, but many would not for more than brief moments.
