when it comes to tobacco prices it's all about being punitive through taxes, back then it was a kinder gentler nation for smokers.

A great post. I was an Ehrlich customer in the '80's, ordered their tobacco by the pound. They made some nice pipes too. I think I have at least one of every grade, not by design, but because of keeping an eye out for them in the estate market.

I watched this on eBay for a while, then decided that I may never see another offered for sale, and I bought it. Probably paid too much for it, but I thought that if I put a good quality pdf scan out there for everyone to enjoy, then it would worth it.

Great tobaccos. I still have jars of their DPE Mixture, Cake Box Mixture, and one not listed called Pemberton Mixture. Leavitt & Pierce is still in business, Ehrlich is long gone.

Thank you very much for making the effort of sharing. I am smoking a D. P. Ehrlich straight pot meerschaum carved sometime after this catalog. It has a 14kt gold shank band. Anyone have an Ehrlich-Leavitt & Peirce catalog from the late 1960s or early -70s?
