Zippo Wheel Help

Looking for some pro tips from those who rep a zippo with pipe insert.

I’ve noticed that the wheel has started to get gummed up from the residue. Is there a good method for cleaning this? Is it something that can be avoided with regular maintenance, or basically just needs to be cleared once it has accumulated and become an issue?

a soft brush or blast it with air.

Remove the flint and wipe the wheel down with alcohol and a Q-tip. You can further clean everything this way by removing the top cap of the insert.

Good! But isn't an old toothbrush just the thing? Not too soft nor hard.....? Along with lighter fluid.
