Blend Cuts of Irregular Size

Some blends of loose tobacco have pieces of various sizes, from little chips to larger pieces. Some blends could be sorted into four or five distinct sizes. Spilman Mixture would be one example, and it seems to burn evenly without any prepping. Do you have any uneven sized blends that burn well, or others that don't?

any blend that has stringy shag-like cuts I always find myself tearing into smaller pieces or for me they tend to ball up or cause a ton of Irish pennants.

I have to confess that I wasn’t entirely happy with the couple of Hearth & Home mixtures I tried, as they had such huge chunks that the smoke seemed more like a layered parfait than a swirl.

I found myself packing the bowl with the chunky bits I liked more, then wondered why I would bother with a mixture that was more like a salad bar.
