Two eBay estate pipes, made in Israel

I bid on these two estate pipes on eBay (two separate auctions.) About fifteen dollars each. They arrived in fair condition, a bit worse for the wear, but I cleaned them up good. Both of them are made in Israel.

Packing a cob - what am I doing wrong?

I got two Missouri Meerschaum corncob pipes and have tried smoking with them but find the narrow bowl to be a pain in the ass, and I feel like I'm not packing the tobacco right. I've tried ribbon cut and broken flake in them, and the bowls are so small that I feel the three-step "gravity" method...

Odd experience w/ Gawith Hoggarth Louisiana Perique Flake

Hail fellows, I have been trying new tobaccos lately and ordered a small bag of Gawith and Hoggarth's Louisiana Perique Flake. It tasted more bitter and less flavorful. Even though the Michael Kabik is...

Every time I see a Japanese pipe on eBay or on pipe websites, it always seems to cost several thousand dollars. Why is this? Are the Japanese pipe makers that much better at their craft? Or is it that they're using higher quality materials? Or what?

A tobacco blend that is somewhere between aromatic and English or Balkan

I've almost always smoked aromatic blends and I'm tired of it. I want to try some tobacco blends that feature more things like latakia, virginia, oriental etc. But the one time (several years ago) I tried an English blend and I wasn't a big fan, it was just too smoky and burning-wood-like. Are...

Risk if any of my pipe habit

Hello everyone. This is my first post. So, I have smoked a pipe on and off since I was a freshman in college (2004). By on and off I mean, perhaps a few times a month, if at all. There have been months when I smoked it once or twice a week, and months where I never smoked it at all. There have...
