Dunhill Root Briar with army mount

Hello, I definitely confirm this is an army mount, which means simple plugin (the stem is on one part and there is no tenon). Don't mix with spigot mount, which is metal inside metal. I hope you'll like this Dunhill, unadoptedlamp. :)

My Adventure In The World Of Pipes

Thank you very much, it's nice from you and I hope to improve my skills and maybe one day, being able to earn my life with pipemaking (not an easy objective in European econimic situation, lots of charges & of taxes...) I get the stummels from Saint-Claude in France which was formerly the...

Thoughts on Jean Claude Churchwarden pipe

Jean Claude pipes might be a subbrand of Molina (Italian) and indeed I agree with disinformatique about going with a Chacom or Savinelli instead.

Savinelli - Fuoco - Giuseppe Arcimboldo

That's well what I thought too.

    My New Ropp Pipes

I understand your disappointment. What is the width of the button? If it is thick enough, you could drill it? I would gladly do it for you just for the cost of of the shipping back if you trust me enough.

    Horn stemmed vintage Ropp

Horn stems offers different feelings. The first thought coming to my mind is that it will be more and more rare in the coming years. Most of horn stems are now coming from old stock. I personally like the idea of natural origin, to my mind, it is in perfect communion with briar and compared to...

    Michail Kyriazanos Commission (pics)

Nice pipe. I have a question about this metal part appearing on the tenon. Is it a stinger or ... ?

Suffering from Chronic Loose Stem Syndrome?

In case of the inverse, a too tight tenon that you can even not remove, just put the pipe on the freezer for some hours, and that helps :)

Restoring a pipe for a friend of mine

You said well Jeepnewbie, at the moment of the photo, (I decided too late to take pictures) I had indeed used an oxypowder that made it became white but before that it was a deep yellow stem. The process is like you explained, buffing with paste and using micropads till 12000. My friend from...

    Peterson Question

    > Dave and other restorers- love to have your thoughts on that. I just believe it isn't worth the work, this pipe is burn out, and I respect this end, of course, there are still things doable, but for me it would be a case of 'aggressive therapy'

    Peterson Question

 hum yes, but I find it a bit expensive to smoke a wired bowl, even stamped Peterson on it. Well, that's just my point of view.

How To Fix Tooth Holes In Stems

Nice work. In general, I prefer to replace a damaged stem with a new one, as I a have tools for making it precisely, but I can understand that some stems are stamped/marked with the brand logo and that the owner of the pipe would like to keep the original stem. In this case, yes, this process...

Help with two pipes (estate and new)

The first pipe seems to be from pear wood as they usually make pipes in this material in Poland, these are cheap but to my opinion, the taste when smoking is not bad but not that great, I'd rather smoke briar.

    Bamboo shank pipe

The question is : does the metal tube causes any condensation when smoking? So far, I have mounted my bamboos pipes with briar junction but I would gladly get any feedback about this point.
