Customs ... Just Downright Stupid
Thought it was bad in Australia, guys in NZ must be paying close to $900/kg in tobacco tax. In Australia 15oz would be around $200 duty. Edit: Looked it up $698.41 per kilo of tobacco content (KTC). (For 15oz it should be $296 tax but I don't know if GST and other customs charges are placed on...- twistie

It should be also pointed out that one can only bring in 50g of tobacco. So if you bring our own and declare more than 50 grams you'll get slugged duty. Welcome to the lucky country nanny state. Confused as to which blend I should try
Hi Michael I'm also in Australia and I regularly get tobacco from 4noggins.com and smokingpipes.com which comes through no problems, however it is subject to tax/duty if customs checks it and decides to send a bill.
