Churchwardens and cooler smoke?
Just thinking about it, your pulling a vacuum on a greater area which should make it burn hotter. Now the smoke has a longer travel so it should cool down. I don't see a difference. If there was it would be more economical to smoke shorter pipes. -

Howdy, yes I'm from Texas. I started smoking a pipe 32 years ago and for most of that time I've smoked whatever the local pipe shops sold. I just gave up cigarettes and went full time pipe. I don't know why but the only 2 pipe shops for 200 miles sell candy (super sticky, flavour soaked...- good1

Mini Meerschaum pipes
Mini's are great if you happen to get one that wont fall apart. I'm smoking one now that I have a 6 inch bit on it. I was told that you can't do that. Mini's stems are threaded to .25" 20 thread, a nornal meer is threaded .3125 (not sure about thread count). All you need to do is rethread it...
