How to step up from aromatics? (new smoker)
Samuel Gawith navy flake is very nice virginia with a hint of latakia. If you find you like latakia go for squadron leader. SG St james flake is my no1 vaper and I thoroughly recommend it.- herrflick

Looking for the Perfect Pipe
You will find smoking english blends much easier and nicer than aromatics the majority of which tend to be hot burning and lacking in good tobacco flavour. A Stanwell shape 56 is a nice small bowled pipe with an elegant long shank and would fit the bill nicely. -

Does this pipe have the 7mm briar style tenon or the little nylon one that screws into the stem? -

Meershaum pipes
Go with Altinok or IMP or Baki. They use the briar type tenon that draws really well. I have two CAO's that I've had to re-engineer to make them smoke well.- herrflick
