    I love lat bombs. But agree with your critiques of them. I have found lancer slices to be a amazing balance between floral zesty turkish, sweet virginia, but intricate nuanced perique. I think its a perfect balance for an English blend.

    I smoked them for the first 4 or 5yrs of my pipe smoking experiance. Then I did get a little bit burned out and, switched to virginias and, vapers for a season or two. Now I alternate based on mood. I love both just as much. Though I still prefer latakia above all else.

    My trinity is Star of The East, Ten Russians, and Gaslight. I will try the blends you mentioned. I have not had Old Ironsides. I think I have had odyssey cant recall.

    I have to be very careful with Virginia's. I have to sip them very slow. And smoke them in the right environment. The colder it is outside the better they smoke for me. I cannot go above a moderate paced puff or they start tearing my mouth up. And the flavor is lost.
