Zippo question
Never had a problem lighting a bowl with the pipe Zippo. A regular one would be rather difficult. Doesn't need to be that close for me to draw the flame down into the bowl. I did get a bit of the fuel taste the first time I used it though. It went away after a couple of puffs. Never has happened...- patrick

I'm just talking about the top cap that's only on pipe Zippos and not the regular ones. It comes off "for maintenance only," according to Zippo's website.- patrick

I just bought a new Zippo pipe lighter. This might sound like a dumb question, but is there any compelling reason to keep the cap on the top of it? I removed mine making it more versatile. Best drugstore tobacco
I'm a newbie too, but I've tried a bunch of drugstore brands including, Sir Walter Raleigh, Half and Half, Captain Black and Carter Hall. Personally, I love Carter Hall. Your tastes might be different though, especially if you like aromatics. I don't care too much for flavored tobaccos myself.- patrick

Do former cigeratte smokers favour VA over anything else?
I smoked cigarettes for a couple of decades before finally quitting. I'm a newer pipe smoker and I really enjoy burley tobacco or burley/virginia blends. I wouldn't say they taste exactly like a cigarette, much better actually. They do satisfy my desire for nicotine.- patrick
