    EBay pipes

I agree with aggravated farmer. I haven't bought a meerschaum pipe yet because I haven't seen one in a store that I like. I would be leery of getting one on ebay. Stick with briars for now and save up for a meerschaum.

    Keeping pipes nice and fresh

Be sure not to remove the stem of your pipe until it has completely cooled down. It also helps to keep the pipes fresh if you store them with the bowl down and the stem up, in a vertical manner. Welcome to the family!

    Captain Black "Copper"

Has anyone tried the brand new CB? It's called copper and it sounds interesting. It almost sounds like they combined the gold and regular and called it something new. I'm really tempted to order some, but wanted to see what others that may have already tried it thought.

    Tobacco Time Warp - - - Back To 1986

Really neat post. I like vintage things like that!

    Blends that "Grow On Ya"

Great thread! The blend that grew on me was Plum Pudding. I had been a fan of Mississippi RIver for a while and heard great things about plum pudding. The first two or three times I tried it I wasn't a fan. Put it on the shelf for a month or so, tried it again and loved it! This is about the...

1q tobacco for a begginer (and where to find some ?)

1Q is definitely a great starter blend. Probably the best you can get. Not sure about shipping internationally, but the choice is fantastic.

    Super Smart Cars and Pipesmoking?

The best part of driving a stick shift while smoking a pipe is seeing the terrified, yet impressed, look on my wife's face. Thank goodness we live in the heart of the blue ridge mountains and are about 15 years behind the rest of society. Most people in our small town still don't trust wal-mart...

    Pipe Pranksters (Cartoon)

hahahaha. I love it. Thank goodness there was no hazing when I joined the forum!

    Need advice from experienced smokers

Be sure to try Erinmore Flake. I enjoyed it more than Orlik GS... but maybe I'm just a fluke. haha. If you're willing to try another Frog Morton blend... get FM cellar. It is fantastic!

Can anyone identify this tobacco tin?

I would not pick Prince Albert. Out of the blends that resemble it, I would choose Carter Hall over it. haha. But that's just me. As for the other blends... I've never had anything by Sammy G that I did not like, so I would choose either one of the two that you listed (I'd probably go with the...

    Birthday Present From My Girls

Awesome! I'd love to have that. Sounds like you've got some pretty nice gals.

    A "Rounded" Blend

My friend suggested Dunhill's "Yatch Club" and "Nightcap". Thanks, all, for the suggestions. Keep them coming!

    A "Rounded" Blend

What would you men, and perhaps ladies, say the most 'rounded' or 'heavy' blend you've ever smoked would be? I love blends that are just really 'heavy'. I'm not sure if I'm using the correct terminology... so I'll try an analogy. Some blends that I have tasted have been like a salad: filling if...

***What Are You Smoking *** (April 2015)

My own combination of CAO Black and John Bull in a Bjarne Viking Classic.

    Pipe cleaner question

I use the bristles to clean out a "cake" of sorts that may be in my shank and stem, sometimes soaked in everclear. I only use the cotton cleaners to soak up dottle at the bottom of a bowl and to dry out my pipe during and after a smoke.

    Tobacco tastes (new to pipe)

You definitely have a better feeling for a range of tobaccos starting out than I had. I basically started with Captain Black for like 2 years. Keep working on those English Blends. Get some John Bull tobacco, you'll be able to see the difference in virginias, latakia, and cavendish all in the...

Beware of The Latakia Pies- A Classic Cartoon

I wish my wife loved the smell of Latakia as much as the people of the kingdom.

    Your "Go-To" Blends

My go to's depend on if I'm gonna be outside or not. If I'm outside, I always go for Mississippi River. English blends tend not to smell as nice inside as aromatics. If I'm inside, I do for anything sweet with chocolate or vanilla. I love anything "nougat-y" or truffly.

    Flake Tobacco: Preparing and Drying

I rub it out on a paper plate or something like that and let it sit for an hour or so. That has been the best result for me. But it depends on the blend. Orlik GS doesn't take as long to dry out, but Erinmore flake is a lot more moist so it takes a little longer. My friend likes to load it up...
