    Churchwardens For Reading?

A friend suggested I invest in a churchwarden, as he found it to be an ideal shape for when he's reading. Usually, I smoke lightweight pipes and nose warmers when I read, but my jaw can't sustain long periods of clenching and the smoke tends to get in my eyes. When he told me to try out a...

[WTB] Ropp Vintage Sandblasted Billiard (9/11/18)

I'm on a Vintage Ropp kick, and I'm looking for a sandblasted 29 or 29c. Something like this: https://www.smokingpipes.com/pipes/new/Ropp/moreinfo.cfm?product_id=279708 or this (but sandblasted): https://www.smokingpipes.com/pipes/new/Ropp/moreinfo.cfm?product_id=179634. SP currently has none of...

    Any Good Wines Lately?

Last week I had the pleasure of drinking some great wines. Paydirt's 2015 Going for Broke is a huge Zin with GSM thrown in for good measure. A giant Paso Robles Cab that I will have again for sure. Also had Black Slate's La Viella Alta Vi de la Vila Priorat from 2014. Just outstanding for the...

    Nicotine Overdose!

I had a delayed reaction the other day, which I've never experienced before. I hadn't had a pipe in about two weeks, so my tolerance tanked. Not thinking, I packed some aged Penzance in a large chambered Ben Wade freehand as my evening smoke and went to town on it. I felt a little woozy, which I...

Savinelli 140th Anniversary - Will It Ghost?

Dot, I do agree. Anni Kake leaves a slight aftertaste, but heck it's so good, I don't mind. I imagine if 140th is as good as others say it is, I probably won't mind it ghosting either.

Savinelli 140th Anniversary - Will It Ghost?

I'm excited to finally try this blend, but I'm worried the floral note some have mentioned will ghost a pipe. Anyone with experience with this blend care to weigh in?

    Re-thinking My Cellaring Philosophy & a Surprise!

This seems to be the philosophy of many, myself included, in the wake of McC's closure. As a relatively newer pipe smoker (less than five years), I debate whether I should spend my money on my established favorites to bulk up a future cellar or try newer blends on my ever-expanding list. I try...

Beloved Blends That Hate You In Return

Glad to read I'm not the only one. I've read elsewhere that red VAs bother some people and not others. As for some of the comments on burley, Prince Albert was the burley-based blend that threshed my throat after one bowl. I thought it tasted good - kind of no-nonsense with some cocoa - but...

Beloved Blends That Hate You In Return

bassbug, I enjoy the taste! I think MK tastes great, and the first time I had it, it burned perfectly. But the handful of times after that, it still tasted great but bit me. So I've moved on from it.

Beloved Blends That Hate You In Return

Wait, wait, wait, don't misunderstand me. I no longer smoke this blend because, over a long period of time, I monitored whether or not what was happening was a coincidence. I have no proof that my physiological reaction is directly caused from this particular blend, but I no longer care to tease...

Beloved Blends That Hate You In Return

Are there any blends you love but can't smoke because they negatively affect your body? I'm a huge fan of Classic Samsun, but every time I smoke it, I develop an ulcer in my mouth that takes forever to heal. No other blend, McClelland or otherwise, does this to me, but for some reason Classic...

Solani: Aged Burley Flake - 656 now Available at SP

ben88, Watch City Slices has more of a creamy BBQ flavor to it. ABF is nutty with baking spices, cinnamon, and a little tang. ABF is fantastic and the closest I've come to Edgeworth Sliced.

Anyone Here Snag This Kikusui Ginza Sandblasted Horn From SmokingPipes?

Oh my gosh that's it! According to yesterday's listing, that Kikusui Sandblasted Horn weighed 0.7oz with a length of 5.38in, whereas the December 5 listing weighed 0.77oz with a 5.31in length. The bowl heights and chamber depths of both are also slightly different. There's hope yet! Maybe we can...

Anyone Here Snag This Kikusui Ginza Sandblasted Horn From SmokingPipes?

upnorth, I do remember there being a similarly shaped pipe on SP a while back. I'm not sure if it was the same, but I do recall it looking fantastic. At this point, our best bet may be to commission someone to make something similar. But to do that, I've got to save up!
