Anyone Here a Fan of Solent Mixture?
Solent is in my top 5 blends. It is certainly an English blend. I would describe it as a mix of a mild English blend with some Navy flake, it has this nice rum or honey sweet note in the background.- zanthipal

Still smoking too hot after all this time - advice requested
What I find works for me is to not only draw smoke thru the pipe, but pull in some fresh air at the same time by not having your lips sealed on the bit. This is harder to do with p-lips, works best with fishtails. I find I get more flavor, and zero burn, if I pull in some air on most puffs. I...- zanthipal

Orlik Golden Sliced Review

Started Using Softie Bits
Use them on all my pipes. I put them on "backwards" with the lip towards the bowl, and then I don't cover the stem's button at all with the softie. Makes for a very natural clench. Now I just wish pipemakers would all use non-oxidizing stems, since I don't need any softness in the stem...- zanthipal

Nightcap revisited
Not a fan when I tried it months ago. Have come to realize that any baccy described as either "spicy" or containing anything except a trace of perique is not for my palate. Mason jar storage tips ?
Based on other folk's excellent storage tips, I started using the Ball Platinum jars, in their original boxes. They fit perfectly in an old file cabinet. In addition, I printed labels for the top of the jars using images from the manufacturers, with a little text box reminding me of the contents.- zanthipal

Local here. Light up wherever you want, no outdoor smoking ban in DC unless it is specifically labelled. The Mall and around all the monuments are all great to smoke and contemplate the views. Confessions of a Once Latakia Phobic.
