Pipe Bits - Do they work?

You can get them at just about any pipe store or on line. I use them on some pipes.....the ones I tend to clinch and or walk around with in my mouth. They are rubbery so do fit any stem. The ones I have have a rim on them. I trim it off because I have found them a lot more comfortable without...

    Making an Easy Pipe Tool?

Case makes a mini "doctors" knife. The great things about Doctor models are they have a flat bolster = perfect tamper, a spatula blade = great bowl cleaner and of course a regular blade = always handy. You can go with a regular Doctor model but it is a big knife. The mini is just the right size.I

An interesting idea for a tamper...

I tend to use revolver cases because they have a rim. I have put antler and wood in them. I even cut off the rim and glued it to the bottom of a wooden tamper (kind of different). I have a good supply of spent cases but you can also go to any shooting range and ask for a handful. You can also...

    Holiday Blend of Choice?

McC Holiday Cheer is great, note is a lady killer as well and "thats all I'm goin to say about that". McC Christmas Cheer 2011 is a personal favorite as well. I enjoy this mild smoke in the evenings. Both are pricy but worth every cent.

I think I have figured out what makes a "Navy"

Perhaps I do have a strange nose for the room note of tobaccos or maybe I tend to smoke too many aromatics. I know I gravitate towards tobaks that ladies like......then again maybe it just I am still very new have not developed a palette yet and should not be making uninformed posts? Still...

I think I have figured out what makes a "Navy"

Granted I have only smoked 2 "Navy" tobaks. They were very different except for one thing....they both are best smoked in the middle of ocean on a boat/ship with a stiff breeze blowing the smoke away from any other human!!!!! Wow the nose of Navy is something special! ;)

    Two pipe questions

What I have learned holds true to the post here. Loose pack burns cooler. Paper towel lightly in new pipes to help develop even cake. I do throughly clean the stem with Everclear after each smoke....maybe over kill but never have a bad taste.
