    Diary of a new Piper

Thanks to all for the insight and great comments. I decided to take advantage of the unseasonably warm temps here in MN and have a smoke on the porch Saturday night. So I grabbed my Galleria Wild Cherry and spread some out on a paper to dry for a bit (this toby has always gurgled for me. I have...

    Diary of a new Piper

Do we call ourselves pipers or does that confuse us with strange men with flutes that lead rats and children away from towns? Anyway I thought I would share my experiences with my pipes and tobaccos. I hope you enjoy reading about my progress in the hobby and maybe can point out some things I...

question on lighting that is not a "keeping it lit" question

yeah I use a match, Last night I took a walk and tried to light up. Wind is a bitch for matches. But I packed using the Frank Method and I wonder if I had the edge too tight. Only the center would burn and would not burn well, I actually gave up and went inside after 30 min.

    Where do you smoke?

Like most of you I do enjoy smoking outside but too cold now. I also build scale models so I have a vented spray booth that I turn on an smoke in my little hobby area. Just stopped at Cigar Jones in Minnetoka and will be hanging out there probably after work this week to enjoy a smoke.

    A Pipe & 1/4 Pound of Tobacco - Only $19.95!

Well I will chalk it up to noob inexperience but the Magic Inch and Classic Black was not "magical" The vent holes do exactly what they claim "a cool, bite less smoke" but I think the fact that I can't pack a pipe effectivly and the Classic Black was too wet set me up for a series of "light...
