    If My Pipes Were Estates

I have bought at least 12 Estate pipes over the years all from smokingpipes.com. Every Estate pipe has come looking almost new. Most of these Estates pipes have become some of my favorites.

What Tinned McClelland Virginias Do You Guys Like?

McCelland is known to have the world's best Virginia supply bar none. I like Dark Star (if you cab keep it lit) and Virginia #27.

    SG 1792 Flake Question

Try baking 1792 at 250 degrees for 2 and a half to three hours. The tobacco will taste better and be dryer but not too dry.

Which Is Better Choice - Thick Walls or Thin?

I would go with the pipe with thicker was because you said it should burn cooler. I don't know about burning cool but it should definitely burn cooler than a thin walled pipe of the same brand.

McClelland Dark Star Review: Not What I Expected

Dark Star is a very good tobacco. I do not think that it is too sweet but rather full bodied and robust. However, it became too difficult to keep lit so I gave up on Dark Star. I have tried to dry this tobacco, however, it lost much of the taste.

    Stokkebye Luxury Bullseye Vs. Escudo

I agree with most assessments. Escudo is more complex and contains considerable perique. Stokkeby Luxury Bullseye on the otherhand is considerable more sweet tasting of the two tobaccos due to the Cavendish. Escudo has been a favorite of mind for some years.

If you can only choose one brand, which one would be?

I'd have say first Savinelli Autographs and second Ser Jacobo.

    The Art of Smoking Virginias

I have a friend that has smoked Dunhill's Mixture 365 for years. When I suggest a Virgina blend he stuffs in his pipe, which has only tasted Mixture 365, and he immediately announced this Virgina is crap. The reason is simple because he does not smoke Virgina's long enough to give them an honest...

    Ode to Dark Star

My experience with Dark Stare was very similar to most of you. I live in a high humidity area and even though I left my jar of Dark Star open for a few days after opening the tin it was still difficult to light. This tobacco is great stuff and later after leaving it jarred for a few months it...

    Charring At The Brim

I have purchased many estate pipes from smokingpipes.com and I agree that their photos, descriptions, measurements and the telephone conversations that I have had with them are courteous, honest and informative. The customer service at smokingpipes.com is second to none. The estate pipes that I...

    My first Rad Davis pipe!

Congratulations! I have four Rads and while they all smoke well the thing that I appreciate the most, and you hear very little about, is his comfortable stems. Rad Davis has always taken special care and attention to his stems which, I think, go a long way, maybe subliminally, toward the...

    I Rarely Reload a Pipe

I have 37 pipes in my collection and regularly smoke about 30 of them. I very rarely smoke two bowls in the same pipe since, even though I smoke non-aromatic tobacco the act of burning and saliva creates moisture.

    Randy Wiley or Nording

I have a Wiley Patina and have never smoked a Nording. My Randy Wiley is a very good smoker and it smokes dry and very cool since it is a thick walled pot. I love it.

    Hot Weather Smoking

I live just outside Houston in Sugar Land. During the early spring, late fall and winter I smoke in the garage with the garage door open. During the summer the garage is too hot so I smoke on the patio with a ceiling fan, however, when you have a fan on while smoking a pipe you cannot taste the...

McClelland Bombay Court + 6 months

I have smoked McClelland's Bombay Court for some time. I believe this blend to be a real sleeper tobacco. This blend never falls to fulfill it's oriental forward taste with a small amount of latakia to keep it interesting.
