    Oh, and before I forget, take a look at the following chart and see if the "hallmark" that is the farthest to the right of the three hallmarks stamped onto the silver band matches up with anything from the early 80's. ;-)

    peckinpahhombre -- Your Mark Twain likely dates to circa 1983-84. Peterson was using that particular packaging for the Mark Twain at that time. Very nice pipe! Here's an example from 1984:
