Zig Zag Pipe Tobacco supposed to taiste like cigars but taists like cigar ashtrays of old stogies...This stuff is so bad that you may want to throw your pipe away cause you cant cleab out the aftertaist---This stuff is so bad that you might want to smoke it once and go back to it like a bad girlfreind to find out why you left her inthe first place...Very acrid...The only reason head shops sell this stuff is to keep the feds out...See we sell tobbaco now get the F out of my shop!

Uhmmm, the Zig Zag connotation to me is enough to keep me away just on its own. I keep thinking that to a "stoner" even dog sh*t tastes good......

Hate to burst your bubble, flylot, but stoners can have *highly* developed palates too.

That being said, zig-zag will never go near my pipes.

Any of them.

Well I just found out about this tobacco the other day during a visit to a headshop. I live far away from any real tobacconists, so if I want a quick fix for something new, I have to go to the headshops and settle for OTCs. I picked up some Mixture 79 to fulfill my masochistic desires, and almost bought the Zigzag pouch, but only had a few bucks. I totally understand when you mention Zigzag being used as a front. One headshop I've been to, only has four pipe tobaccos, and the employess don't even know anything about the blends. I don't know much about tobaccos either, other than what I like, but sometimes I want to jerk headshops and say, "You might get a little more business by carrying more tobaccos, and "classic"(as they say here) pipes. It could attract an additional avenue of customers to what you already have."

But what are the chances? Ya know?

The Alternative Smoke Shops have their own set of values for the most part. Glass, metal, condensates, vaporizers and blunts seem to make up most of their product lines.
That being said, competition is heating up and they are looking to become more competitive in their markets. I'm seeing an assortment of hookahs and shishas being added to the product mixes. Some of the tobaccos are really very tasty.
Also, in Austin, more are becoming full-line tobacco shops with cigar humidors, pipe tobaccos and lines of imported cigarettes. I notice that they don't want to go head-to-head with the local convenience stores for domestic cigarettes.
Times are a changing.

Unfortunately, the uptick in high-end tobacco consumption is attracting even more attention from lawmakers starved for lack of revenue.
Not to mention all of the antis who drop the "somebody please think of the children" defense whenever it is noted that there is growth in these segments amongst young people...
In short, when the head shops start to convert to tobacconists then the hammer must be about to fall, because it's gone too mainstream for the tax man to ignore any longer.
Ironically, people consuming these other forms of tobacco probably use it much more responsibly and with less harm than the majority who are smoking 1-2 packs a day or dipping/chewing around the clock.

I'm sure if Zig-Zag was a sponsor this post would not be allowed. Having not tried said tobacco, I'm pretty sure it's your basic RYO just labeled as pipe tobacco to avoid taxes.
