I ran across this short animated film on Netflix titled The House Of Small Cubes. The description reads: His favorite pipe is missing in his flooded house. Searching for it means more than going for a swim.
It's only 10 minutes long and worth checking out. After all how often does something like this pop up? Break out your Peterson, it's a thinking mans cartoon.

Wow, what a fascinating and thought provoking piece.

Good news it's on YouTube as well!

I'll update the title so no one misses out on this one, particularly at this reflective time of the year. We do live our lives in layers, eh?

Ah, yes ... Le Maison en Petit Cubes (a Japanese production, despite the French title). This elegant little gem won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film in 2008, not that we care about such things here. The story is an old one, but a lot of creative choices tell it elegantly. Very moving. I won't ruin the experience for folks here with a review or analysis (yet, anyway). I do recommend folks to watch it before YouTube pulls it off again. Thanks for the look back, dave g ... :puffy:
